Hello from Primary 3!

We have recently started working on our new topic of Irish Myths and Legends and we will focus on this until Easter.  Within the topic, we will be finding out about popular Myths and Legends such as Fionn MacCool, the Children of Lir and Cuchulainn.  We will also learn about St Patrick - about his life and how he came to Ireland and spent time on Slemish Mountain.  This will also lead us to discuss the features of a volcano.  We may even make a volcano...

In Literacy, we will be reading and writing stories relating to our topic.  We will look at acrostic poems and create our own using our names.  We will learn about what our names mean.

In Numeracy, we will work on addition and subtraction using money.  Within measures we will focus on weight and will also continue to work on time.  We hope to work with Roamer and Bee Bot to learn about turning and directions.

We had a wonderful day on 7th March when we made our First Confession.  It was a special time for us and we learned so much about the importance of making good choices.

Keep checking on the progress we are making within our topic!

Bye for now!
