OPEN EVENING

Sincere thanks to everyone who attended our Open Evening on Wednesday 5th December 2018. This year we changed the format to focus on the ease of transition from Nursery to Primary One and displayed the range of opportunities available in both our settings.

All of the staff were on hand to provide guidance on this important decision and parents were advised that if they need any assistance with completion of the new application online there will be workshops to assist you.

Have a look at the delighted faces at the range of activities going on on the night. http://www.stjohnscarnlough.co.uk/news/a-fun-filled-open-evening/

Anyone who was unable to attend our Open Evening can make an appointment to view the school at any time.

A Special Assembly For Mr Emerson

On Wednesday afternoon we celebrated Mr Emerson’s retirement in school. We held a lovely assembly for him with staff past and present, parents past and present and pupils.  Mr Emerson loved the variety of singing, portraits, drama, dancing, video messages and prayers.  We wish him best wishes on his retirement.

Pre-school and P1 Admissions 2019

Applications for admission to pre-school and Primary One will open on Wednesday 2 January 2019 at 10.00am and close for punctual applications on Thursday 31 January 2019 (midnight). The EA is establishing a Digital Admissions Online Resource Hub to create a central repository of support materials that parents and schools/providers can access to find out about the new pre-school and primary application process. This link will be supplied when available. This link will give you an idea of how the digital application process will work: Parent Portal screen recording: https://bit.ly/2T8psEg

The EA is taking a digital first approach to transacting with its stakeholders, this means that digital (online) will be the first option to be explored/offered. Whilst seeking to encourage parents to apply online, as outlined in the Equality Screening document a paper application form will be accepted.   Parent applying online will be advised that birth certificates and any verifying documents specified in admission criteria be submitted to their first preference setting on or before 12 noon on Friday 8 February 2019.   We know that change is challenging and we are here to help! We plan to provide an addition digital support session.   Keep watching for support sessions and links to apply for primary school on-line!
