Celebrating World Book Month

As part of World Book Month St John's P.S and Carnlough Community Nursery were delighted to have a day of stories and song provided by the storyteller Steve Lally from Co. Kildare and our very own Feargal Lynn!

All the children from Nursery through to Primary 7 were enthralled by Steve's storytelling involving pupil participation, poetry, drama and song.

What an inspirational day for everyone reminding us all of the importance of a good story!

Advice on 'Fortnite' Battle Royale

Parents should check their child's online safety regarding the game 'Fortnite'.  This game has a rating of 12 and children are exposed to swearing and offensive language from strangers, either through audio or on-screen text chat.  You play against people of different ages from across the world.  You cannot turn the in game chats off or choose who you play against. Please be cautious if your child has this game.

Formula One Challenge

Well done to our P7 class who completed the Formula One Challenge.  All class members were involved in the challenge and superb team work was demonstrated throughout.  Six children were elected by other class members to go to The North Centre in Ballymena to present their Formula One model car to the organisers.  There were a large number of schools taking part in this challenge so we await the announcement of the overall winner by the end of the week.  Well done to everyone involved!
