To finish Maths Week we took our measures work outdoors! P1 found three different sized leaves and ordered them biggest to smallest. Lots of comparing between each other and, lots of fun trying to find the biggest leaf ever! The children followed instruction fantastically, and used a lot of positional language too. P2 found one big leaf each and ordered them in groups of 4, and as a whole class. As they all found big leaves so this was tricky but they worked out ways of comparing. They then measured their leaf using non-standard units of measurement. They worked out how many cubes long their leaf was.
