P7’s next big project is in WAU when they start work on ‘Formula 1’. Primarily, this involves the pupils working in teams to ultimately design and make a clay model of a Formula 1 car. The organisers will then take this model and make it into a balsa wood model that will be raced against similarly-designed cars from around the rest of N Ireland some-time in early 2018. This is a very cross-curricular topic because it includes a lot of work from different areas of the curriculum such as literacy, numeracy, science, geography, history, ICT, art, design and technology.
