As part of our Wellbeing Wednesday we tied in with our topic and made some yummy Oreo brown bear. The children loved the process, and I think loved the product even more! We spent some time to discuss how we made the bears and the language and describing words that the children produced was so impressive! The enthusiasm that comes with writing about something that you've just experienced and enjoyed was evident through the children's chat. Next, we completed some instructional writing tasks. Primary 1 sequenced their pictures and the children copied some modelled writing as we sounded out and wrote words such as dip, add and stick. Primary 2 also sequenced the pictures and, using a bank of words that we made together, they wrote a short sentence for each one. What a fantastic morning, and such super writing from all! Well done, it was well worth the reward!
